    A: You will need snap ring pliers (J 8059) and drive axle seal clamp pliers (J 35910) and drive axle swage ring clamp (J 41048) to replace the wheel drive shaft inner joint and seal. You need snap ring pliers (J 8059) and drive axle seal clamp pliers (J 35910) and drive axle swage ring clamp (J 41048). You need to use a hand grinder to detach the swage ring from the halfshaft bar but you must avoid damaging the bar. Trim off the large seal retaining clamp from the tripot joint with side cutters and dispose of it. Push the inboard seal off its trilobal tripot bushing at the large diameter before moving it along the halfshaft bar away from the joint. Get snap ring pliers (J 8059) to remove the housing from the tripot joint spider and halfshaft bar and spacer rings and tripot boot before discarding these elements. Remove rust from the halfshaft bar by using a wire brush before inspecting needle rollers needle bearings and trunnion for damage to replace broken parts using designated kits. To install the new small swage ring position it on the joint seal's small end and then move both onto the halfshaft bar. Place the joint seal's small end in the joint seal groove. After positioning a mount drive axle swage ring clamp (J 41048) in a vise and placing the inboard halfshaft assembly into the tool, align the seal neck before checking that the halfshaft inboard seal remains free from pinch points. Then install and tighten the bolts. First, position each component - halfshaft inboard seal, halfshaft bar and swage ring - before using a ratchet wrench to tighten drive axle swage ring clamp (J 41048) bolts at 180-degree intervals. After installation of the spacer ring into the halfshaft bar groove with snap ring pliers (J 8059) place the tripot joint spider assembly onto the halfshaft bar and use the service kit grease to pack the inboard halfshaft seal before completing the housing repack. Position the larger new seal retaining clamp onto the halfshaft inboard seal before installing the new trilobal tripot bushing which needs to be flush with the housing face. Position the tripot joint spider assembly inside the housing while maintaining appropriate positioning of the halfshaft inboard seal's larger diameter. Mark the appropriate engine type on the vehicle and use a thin flat blunt tool to distribute joint pressure before properly positioning the assembly. The alignment process involves securing the halfshaft inboard seal and tripot housing to the large seal retaining clamp using drive axle seal clamp pliers (J 35910) to achieve 176 nm (130 lb ft) torque based on a breaker bar and torque wrench requirements. The clamp ear should be checked for its gap dimension before tightening it until the dimension reaches 2.60 mm (0.102 in). Afterward repeat full strokes of the joint to spread the grease.
