• Q: How to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?

  A: When replacing the multifunction turn signal switch you should first turn off the restraints system and separate the upper and lower trims before marking the connector at the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly for restoration. Pull away the wire harness assembly from its mounting strap before taking off the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly wires from the restraints system. Separate the two connectors of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from the bulkhead connector and remove its two pan head screws to take out the assembly from the steering column tilt head assembly. Set the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly with its electrical contact touching the turn signal cancel cam part. Secure the parts with both pan head tapping screws while tightening top screw to 3 Nm and side screw to 7 Nm. Push the two connectors into the connector body and join the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly wires with the restraints coil connections. Place back the abrasion sleeve onto the steering column wire harness unit while positioning the ignition lock wires and connector properly. Test the restraint system before inserting the cable assembly into its supportive structure while restoring the cover panels on top and below.
