2005 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in the Evaporator Assembly on 2005 Buick LeSabre?
A: Begin by recovering all refrigerant from the system then disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Start by detaching the hose from the accumulator using the a/c Evaporator hose nut followed by removing the right headlamp to reach the Evaporator hose nut located at the condenser so you can disconnect the hose there. Remove the Evaporator hose by disconnecting it from both the accumulator cover and the Evaporator line nut. Then continue by taking off the a/c Evaporator hose from the vehicle. Place the new a/c Evaporator hose inside the vehicle before installing the a/c Evaporator hose clip into its rail slot to connect it to the Evaporator. After inspecting the seal washers for damage, replace any failed components before tightening the Evaporator line nut to a torque of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Connect the Evaporator hose to the accumulator then tighten its hose nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) before installing it to the condenser and tightening this hose nut to specification. First remove and reposition the right headlamp then secure the Evaporator hose in the accumulator cover before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable and charging the a/c system before concluding with a leak test using the halogen leak detector j 39400-a.
