2005 Buick LeSabre Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2005 Buick LeSabre?
A: Before replacing the Brake Master Cylinder disconnect its electrical connector from the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and take out the brake pipes from the master cylinder. Keep rubber caps or plugs on exposed fittings to avoid brake fluid leakage and contamination. Unfasten the two master cylinder holding nuts and pull out the whole block. When you reuse the assembly you must take the reservoir apart from the master cylinder. Reinstall the master cylinder reservoir onto the cylinder when you put it back while doing a master cylinder bench bleed procedure. Fit the master cylinder to the vacuum Brake Booster through the two mounting nuts and tighten them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Fasten the brake pipes to the master cylinder while keeping tight connections of 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Plug in the electrical connection for the Brake Fluid Level Sensor after you complete the hydraulic brake bleeding.
