    A: To change the Oil Pan, it is first necessary to drain the engine oil and remove the right engine mount bracket. Unplug the electrical connector from the engine oil level sensor, and then remove the sensor itself from the Oil Pan. Then, it is explained to remove the torque converter cover, the Oil Pan bolts, then disassemble the Oil Pan. Remove the oil pump pipe and screen and the Oil Pan Gasket removing the Oil Pan Gasket and clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block. Check and clean the Oil Pan prior to installing a new Oil Pan Gasket and the oil pump pipe and screen. Install the Oil Pan and apply 1 drop gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to each bolt and tighten the Oil Pan bolts to 14 nm (124 in-lbs.). Install the torque converter cover and the engine oil level sensor to the Oil Pan with 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs. Of torque). Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil level sensor and reinstall the right enginemount bracket. Finally, put some oil in the engine and proceed to check for leaks once the engine is started.
