2005 Buick LeSabre Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace a shock absorber on 2005 Buick LeSabre?
A: Starting replacement of the Shock Absorber begins with vehicle elevation and support systems. Position the vehicle for elevation support. Next remove the tire while lifting the wheel. Supporting the Control Arm with a jack stand is necessary. First detach the automatic level control air tube from the shock then remove the Shock Absorber bottom retaining bolts. The trunk trim removal reveals the Shock Absorber upper mounting nuts followed by removing both the upper Shock Absorber cover and retaining nuts. The next step includes removing the upper Shock Absorber reinforcement while taking out the shock from inside the vehicle. The first step of installation requires placing the Shock Absorber along with reinforcement elements followed by laying retaining nuts then torque the upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Put on the trunk trim after installing both the Shock Absorber cover and upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts. Route the automatic level control air tube toward the shock whereas you tighten the lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts to 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Position the tire along with the wheel then lower the vehicle.
