2004 Buick LeSabre Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace a shock absorber on 2004 Buick LeSabre?
A: The Shock Absorber replacement process starts by suspending the vehicle before you remove the wheel along with its tire. A jack stand should be placed under the Control Arm before disconnecting the automatic level control air tube from the shock. You need to first detach the lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts before removing the trunk trim which provides access to the upper mounting points of the Shock Absorber. Start by taking off the upper Shock Absorber cover following the removal of upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts and upper Shock Absorber reinforcement to extract the shock outside of the vehicle. The first step of installation includes mounting the shock followed by reinforcement then retaining nuts before securing the upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). You should install the trunk trim before putting on the upper Shock Absorber cover. Firmly attach both lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts at a torque force of 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and restore the connection of the automatic level control air tube to the Shock Absorber. Finish the process by installing the tire and wheel and then lower the vehicle.
