2004 Buick LeSabre Control Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear axle lower control arm on 2004 Buick LeSabre?
A: To replace the rear Control Arm (lower), first, take off the rear assembly (suspension support), then you will need to disconnect the automatic level control height sensor link from the left Control Arm, then stabilizer shaft link, respectively. Then remove the wheel bearing/hub, then remove the adjustment link retaining nut, and disconnect the adjustment link from the lower Control Arm. This should thereafter be followed by unscrewing the bolts for the lower mounting Control Arm and nuts in order to remove the lower Control Arm. For installation, bolt up the lower Control Arm to the rear suspension support assembly ensuring that you tighten the lower Control Arm nuts while the vehicle is not supported and resting on its wheels at a normal trim height. Then, install the lower control yard bolts and nuts, and then, wheel bearing/hub, remember to follow fastener notice in service precautions. Lastly, attach the adjustment link to the lower Control Arm and fix in place by the adjustment link retaining nut, tighten it to 50 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). Rerun the wheel bearing/hub over the stabilizer shaft link, and the automatic level control height sensor link on the left Control Arm, and then connect the rear suspension support frame. Finally, lower the vehicle and torque the lower Control Arm retaining nuts to 106 nm (78 ft. Lbs.).
