How to replace the drum brake backing plate on 2005 Buick Rendezvous?

In order to replace the drum brake backing plate, lift and hold up the vehicle, loosen the tire, brake drum and brake shoes. Disconnect the park brake cable, unattach the wheel cylinder and hub, and the backing plate. Fit the new supporting plate, re-fit pieces, re-adjust braking shoes and lower the car.
