How to replace the front parking brake cable on 2005 Buick Terraza?

The first step to replace front park brake cables involves removing the left-side instrument panel insulator with the left-side carpet retainer and then folding back the carpet. Lift the vehicle before loosening the equalizer nut of the park brake cable which will separate the cable from its connector. Gently remove the cable connector end while removal of the cable from all retainers prior to lowering the vehicle. To detach the park brake cable end from the park brake lever clevis you should use the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043). The installation requires new front park brake cables which should be connected to the park brake lever and the lever clevis. Rise the vehicle while supporting it and fasten the park brake cable to the retainers and join its end to the park brake cable connector. You should adjust the park brake cable equalizer followed by lowering the vehicle before you return the carpet to its position and replace the left-side carpet retainer with the left-side instrument panel insulator.
