How to replace the exhaust hangers and maintain the support of the exhaust system on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

Before starting the replacement of exhaust hangers ensure you raise and support the vehicle. Before removal of the front Exhaust Hanger you should free it from the rear suspension hanger rod and apply appropriate lubrication to the exhaust pipe hanger rod to help disengage the hanger. Use the front Exhaust Hanger to release itself from the exhaust pipe hanger rod. A proper lubricant should be applied to the body support bracket rod and the Tail Pipe hanger rod before using a pry tool to separate the Tail Pipe hanger from both components. Apply soapy water to the body support bracket rod as well as Tail Pipe hanger and its rod before installation. Assist the Tail Pipe hanger by placing it first over the Tail Pipe hanger rod and finally the body support bracket rod. Before installing the front Exhaust Hanger over the exhaust pipe hanger rod then the rear suspension hanger rod, soak each rod and the inner diameter of the front Exhaust Hanger with soapy solution. Finally, lower the vehicle.
