  A: The replacement of a secondary air injection (AIR) pump starts by elevating the automobile through safe methods. Begin replacing the left front wheel well/splash shield retaining screws from the front part allowing you to move and access the air pump assembly. First loosen and lower the clamp at the air outlet hose and disconnect the air inlet hose from the pump. Remove the electrical connector from the air pump. First detach the upper air pump to cradle bolt and after lifting it up you can pull out the air pump from its cradle bracket. To initiate installation start by feeding the lower air pump bolts/nuts into the cradle bracket while pushing it toward the bottom and afterwards installing the upper air pump to cradle bolt before tightening both lower and upper air pump to cradle bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). After connecting the electrical connector to the air pump, install both the outlet hose with its pinch clamp to the pump and then put on the inlet hose before lowering the vehicle.
