Start by disconnecting the electrical connector of the EGR Valve followed by removing its retaining nuts/bolts to extract the EGR Valve itself. A thorough examination of egr passages in the crossover water pump housing should take place followed by cleaning operations when necessary. Prepare the EGR Valve mounting surface for installation after cleaning it before you add both the gasket along with the new EGR Valve. Secure both retaining nuts/bolts on the EGR Valve by tightening them to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Next, put on the heat shield followed by tightening its nuts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The process closes with the reattachment of the EGR Valve electrical connector.
