How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on 2005 Cadillac SRX?

Before changing the engine oil and Oil Filter, turn off the ignition first. Using a six-point socket, remove the Oil Filter cap and throw away the Oil Filter cartridge. Lift and support the vehicle placing a suitable drain underneath the oil pan Drain Plug. Drain the oil pan to allow the oil to completely drain out. Replace the oil pan Drain Plug and new o-ring seal, and tighten it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Lower the car and mount the new Oil Filter cartridge. Before installing the Oil Filter, lubricate Oil Filter cap threads with clean engine oil to avoid damage and easy removal at the end. Using a six-point socket, fit the Oil Filter cap and tighten it to 25 nm (18 inches lbs). Finally, put in the oil fill cap and fill up the engine with the right type and quantity of oil.
