How to service and repair the Steering Angle Sensor or Steering Shaft Lower Bearing on 2005 Cadillac STS?

First prevent the sir system from functioning by executing zone 3 procedures found under restraint systems. Initial steps require detachment of the Steering Column followed by removal of boot seal, then the steering shaft seal and the sensor retainer, sensor locator and Steering Angle Sensor from the steering shaft. Start by extracting the steering jacket assembly's adapter and bearing assembly unit. Start by mounting the adapter and bearing assembly to the steering jacket assembly before fitting the Steering Angle Sensor, sensor locator, sensor retainer, steering shaft seal, and boot seal onto the steering shaft. Put the Steering Column back in place and follow zone 3 procedures from restraint systems to reactivate the sir system.
