Begin the repair process by disabling the sir system using correct procedures before an exchange of the Steering Angle Sensor or steering shaft lower bearing. The vehicle's Steering Column should be extracted first followed by separation of the boot seal together with the steering shaft seal, sensor retainer and sensor locator from the steering shaft. Extract the Steering Angle Sensor followed by the adapter and bearing assembly from the steering jacket assembly. The installation process starts with attaching the adapter and bearing assembly onto the steering jacket assembly while moving forwards with Steering Angle Sensor, sensor locator, sensor retainer, steering shaft seal, and boot seal. As the final step, install the Steering Column into the vehicle then activate the restraint system.
