How to replace the Steering Column Seal on the intermediate steering shaft on 2006 Cadillac STS?

As a first step in making a replacement for the seal on the intermediate Steering Shaft, first make sure to follow the sir caution in service precautions. Steering column has to be removed with the upper intermediate shaft on it. Remove the Steering Column first and then remove the intermediate shaft seal from the mod plate. In installation, install the new intermediate shaft seal onto the mod plate just make sure you have proper seal between the intermediate shaft seal and the mod plate. Then reinstall the Steering Column and set the restraint system as provided in the restraint system disabling & enabling zone 3.
