Close the Steering Column, forcefully using the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) through the access hole on the lower Steering Column trim cover. Raise and support the vehicle. In case one wants to install it correctly take note of the relationship between the center intermediate shaft and the lower intermediate shaft. After that, by disengaging the retaining bolt that joins the center intermediate shaft with the lower intermediate shaft, the next step ought to be by removing the retaining bolt that is connected to the lower intermediate shaft and the power steering gear. Sever the lower intermediate shaft from the power steering gear and then it will be extracted from the center intermediate shaft. For the installation process, connect the center intermediate shaft to the lower intermediate shaft, and the last step is to connect it to the power steering gear. Installing the retaining bolt for the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear and make it tight to 50 nm (37ft lbs) then install the retaining bolt for the center intermediate shaft to the lower intermediate shaft and make it tight to 30 nm (23ft lbs).
