The Steering Column removal procedure requires leaving the upper intermediate shaft attached to the column which will determine the correct installation position between the two components. Begin by removing the Steering Column retaining bolt (N/A) which holds the upper intermediate shaft. Following this, detach the upper intermediate shaft. During installation position the upper intermediate shaft onto the Steering Column in the same orientation it was found during disassembly and tighten the retaining bolt (N/A) to 48 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Reposition the Steering Column by putting back the upper intermediate Steering Shaft then reactivate the sir system.
