The Steering Column needs removal as technicians must keep the upper intermediate shaft connected. The Steering Column removal process can begin either without jl7 or by applying jl7. Extract the intermediate steering shaft seal from its position on the mod plate. During installation mount the new intermediate shaft seal onto the mod plate while making sure the intermediate shaft seal properly seals against the mod plate. Reinstall the Steering Column according to proper installation procedures which either include or exclude application of jl7. Enable the sir system to finish its procedure.
