  Q: How to replace the Power Steering Pump (LH2) on Cadillac STS?

  A: Front air deflector removal must start along with the power steering pulley before installing a drain pan under the vehicle. The first step consists of removing the air cleaner assembly followed by disconnecting the power steering reservoir outlet hose and pressure hose from the Power Steering Pump. You must also take out the Power Steering Pump to engine mounting bolt together with the power steering bracket to engine bolts. Extract the power steering unit with its bracket out of the vehicle until you obtain separate components of the steering pump and bracket. Installation starts with connecting the power steering bracket to the Power Steering Pump before returning the assembly into position where the power steering bracket connects to the engine with 50 nm torque (37 ft. Lbs.) per the fastener notice in service precautions. The installation proceeds by securing the Power Steering Pump to its engine mounting bolt before tightening to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) while restoring the power steering pressure hose and power steering reservoir outlet hose to the pump.
