How to replace the Steering Angle Sensor or Steering Shaft Lower Bearing on 2007 Cadillac STS?

The sir system needs to be disabled before starting work on the Steering Angle Sensor or steering shaft lower bearing replacement. The first operation involves removing both the Steering Column and then stripping off the boot seal and steering shaft seal and sensor retainer along with sensor locator from the steering shaft. The technician removes the adapter and bearing assembly as well as the Steering Angle Sensor from the steering jacket assembly. Begin the installation by placing the steering jacket assembly adapter and bearing assembly followed by sensor retainer and sensor locator and steering shaft seal and boot seal pieces to the steering shaft. Reinstall the Steering Column into the vehicle and enable the sir system as the final step.
