2007 Cadillac STS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace the Power Steering Reservoir (LY7) on 2007 Cadillac STS?
A: A drain pan needs placement below the vehicle before starting the repair where the first step requires removal of both the fuel injector sight shield and front air deflector. The power steering reservoir requires removal by disconnecting power steering cooler and outlet hoses then unfastening and removing its retaining bolts. To install the power steering reservoir reposition it in the vehicle followed by installing retaining bolts which should be tightened to 9 N.m (80 lb in). After installing the power steering reservoir outlet hose together with the power steering cooler hose to their proper place on the reservoir you should drain the pan. After bleeding the power steering system the technician will complete the work by placing the front air deflector and the fuel injector sight shield.
