2008 Cadillac STS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Power Steering Reservoir for the LY7 engine on 2008 Cadillac STS?
A: Because of the need to change the remote power steering reservoir (LY7 - Gas, 6 CYL, 3.6L, SFI, V6, Alum), start by removing the fuel injector sight shield and front air deflector and positioning a drain pan underneath the vehicle. Start by disconnecting both the power steering cooler hose and outlet hose from the power steering reservoir before extracting it by removing its retaining bolts. Place the new power steering reservoir correctly before fastening it with retaining bolts tightened to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Reattach the outlet hose to the power steering reservoir and the power steering cooler hose before taking out the drain pan. Bleeding the power steering system must be performed while reattaching the front air deflector together with the fuel injector sight shield.
