How to replace the secondary hood latch on 2005 Cadillac XLR?

The beginning process for replacing the secondary Hood Latch starts by opening the hood while disassembling the front segment of the air cleaner assembly. The secondary Hood Latch cable must be disconnected from the Hood Latch before removing the bolts which secure the secondary Hood Latch to the front panel. Finally, remove the secondary latch. Position the secondary latch on the front panel then install its bolts while tightening them up to 9 n.m (80 lb in). To finish the repair you must first reconnect the secondary Hood Latch cable to the Hood Latch before reinstalling the front part of the air cleaner assembly while closing the hood.
