How to replace the front crankshaft seal on 2005 Chevrolet Astro?

The first step to replace a crankshaft front oil seal requires removing the crankshaft balancer. The removal of crankshaft front oil seal should be done with suitable tools before checking the engine front cover seal bore and crankshaft balancer seal area for damage. Clean engine oil should be applied to the exterior of the crankshaft front oil seal before installation takes place. A Crankshaft Aligner/Seal Installer (J 35468) equipped with a hammer enables proper installation of front oil seals onto the engine front cover with both faces at right angles. Finally, reinstall the crankshaft balancer.
