2005 Chevrolet Blazer Coolant Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2005 Chevrolet Blazer?
A: To change coolant recovery reservoir, one must, then, remove the PCM without disconnecting the wiring harness. Use Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) to reposition the hose clamps, and then pull the hose away from the coolant recovery reserve. Next, extract the retaining nuts from the reservoir and remove the latter itself, draining all the coolant. For installation, the new coolant recovery reservoir must be installed with the retaining nuts torqued 8 - 11 Nm (6 - 8 ft. lbs.) while meticulously aligning themselves with the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Attach the hose to the reservoir, relocate the hose clamp with Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185), and reinstall the PCM. Finally, top up with coolant in the reservoir.
