How to Replace the A/C Hose Accumulator Tube on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

The replacement of the accumulator tube begins with recovering the refrigerant followed by moving the cruise control switch aside if equipped. Unthread the two nuts from the pcm module bracket before setting aside both bracket and module. First obtain a back up wrench for the Evaporator core fitting before you remove the nut from the accumulator followed by the Evaporator core nut to pull out the accumulator tube. Replace all existing o-rings with new ones before attaching the accumulator tube at both of its ends. Time the installation of the accumulator tube to both the accumulator and the Evaporator core by tightening the fitting nuts to 35 n.m (26 lb ft). The driver should return the Cruise Control Module to its original position before they install the pcm module bracket onto the shock tower and tighten the bracket nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Complete evacuation of the a/c system followed by recharge and execute a fitting leak test with halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
