How to replace the automatic Motor and Transmission Mount on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

A piece of wood placed between the Oil Pan bottom and the jack support will protect against damage as the first step in automatic transmission mount replacement. The mount's weight becomes lighter when you lift the transmission/transaxle with a jack or utility stand. This allows you to achieve slight tension. At this step check the transmission/transaxle mount to detect cracks on its rubber face or plate detachments and center splits. If any of these conditions exist replace the mount. Replace this component immediately if any of these conditions exist. Check the metal plate and transmission connection for movement then tighten all fasteners to specific specifications. The procedure begins with vehicle support before removing the left front tire assembly along with its wheel and proceeding to take away the left front fender liner. Placing a jackstand and wooden block under the transaxle enables you to remove the expansion bolt then transmission mount bolts before removing the mount. Position the mount bracket onto the new mount then start binding the bolts into threads before you tighten them to 66 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Install the mount expansion bolt at 55 nm tork (41 ft. Lbs.) before you remove the jackstand with wood block. After installing the left fender liner and left tire and wheel assembly you can lower the vehicle.
