    A: To replace the middle Steering Shaft, you first will need to lift and support the vehicle, and then the left front tire is removed. Next, evacuate the intermediate shaft to steering gear pinch bolt (N/A) and discard, followed by giving the intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Lower the vehicle, align the Steering Wheel to a straight forward position while making sure the ignition key has been removed, and the Steering Wheel turned clockwise to lock it in order to protect the sir system from damage. Proceed to mark the connections before removing intermediate shaft pinch bolt (N/A) at Steering Column and discarding same. Lift off the intermediate shaft from the Steering Column shaft and apply pulling, squeezing, and twisting forces to unseat the intermediate shaft seal from the dash and then remove the intermediate shaft/seal from the vehicle. When replacing with a new intermediate shaft, transfer the pre-scribed marks onto the new part and then install the intermediate shaft/seal from the front of the dash making sure the seal is correctly seated by looking through the engine side utilizing a pushing a squeezing and twisting action until seated fully. Rotate the pre-scribed angle by the intermediate shaft against the mark on the Steering Column shaft and fasten it up to the Steering Column shaft as well. For when you remove the intermediate shaft without scribed marks, put the road wheels to the straight ahead, and attach the intermediate shaft to the steering gear with the bolt head side towards the lh wheel well opening, and check that the Steering Wheel is also in the straight ahead before you connect the intermediate shaft to the Steering Column shaft. Replace the new intermediate shaft to Steering Column pinch bolt (N/A) and tighten it to 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs.) and attach the intermediate shaft to steering gear and replace a new intermediate shaft to steering gear pinch bolt (N/A) and tighten both to the same specification. Last, install the left fro wheel and ensure proper alignment of the Steering Wheel; if misaligned remove the intermediate pinch bolt at steering col at the Steering Column remove the intermediate shaft to adjust and straighten the alignment, install pinch bolt (N/A) install at 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs.).
