  A: The hvac module requires removal before Heater Core replacement together with discarding the hvac module assembly foam seal. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the discharge temperature management sensor and the wiring harness retainer pin from the hvac module. The first step involves detaching the wiring harness from Heater Core cover wire harness retainers before setting them to the side. Start by disconnecting screws from the heater cover attached to the hvac module and detach the cover before carefully extracting the Heater Core. The installation process requires a new foam seal that must always have fresh Heater Core seals when performing the replacement. The hvac module will accept the Heater Core followed by installation of the heater cover. Install the hvac wiring harness into its corresponding retainers and before tightening the heater cover screws to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in). Before reinstalling the hvac module complete the process by hooking up the pin that retains the hvac module wiring harness and attaching the dtm sensor electrical connectors.
