Heater Core

One must begin by disassembling the hvac module for replacement of the Heater Core. Also eliminate the hvac module assembly foam seal before continuing. Disengage electrical connections of the discharge temperature management (DTM) sensor while removing the hvac module wiring harness retainer pin. The wiring harness needs its retainers on the Heater Core cover unclipped before placing them safely to the side. You can replace the Heater Core by first removing the heater cover screws from the hvac module that leads to heater cover removal so you can extract the Heater Core. New Heater Core seals should be used during any installation of a new Heater Core. You must put the new foam seal on the Heater Core before inserting it back into the hvac module. Attach the heater cover to the hvac module before securing it with heater cover screws which must be tightened to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in). The hvac wiring harness needs to connect to the Heater Core cover wiring harness retainers first before insertion of the hvac module wiring harness retainer pin to the hvac module and connection of the discharge temperature management (DTM) sensor electrical connectors finally before hvac module installation.

One should begin the Heater Core replacement by removing the hvac module while discarding the hvac module assembly foam seal. You should disconnect the electrical connectors of the discharge temperature management sensor and separate the wiring harness retainer pin from the hvac module. The next step involves disconnecting the wiring harness from the Heater Core cover wire harness retainers before setting the wiring harness to the side. The procedure starts with heater cover screw removal and subsequent removal of the heater cover from the hvac module followed by the Heater Core extraction. Installation of the new Heater Core requires the use of fresh Heater Core seals during every replacement. The installation sequence starts with foam seal application to the Heater Core until it is properly placed within the hvac module. Fasten the heater cover into place using screws that should be tightened until they reach 1.6 n.m (14 lb in). The hvac wiring harness should be connected to Heater Core cover wiring harness retainers and the hvac module wiring harness retainer pin and discharge temperature management (DTM) sensor electrical connectors should be joined. Finally, reinstall the hvac module.

Then the hvac module wiring harness retainer pin should connect to the hvac module and the dtm sensor electrical connectors before installing the hvac module.

Install a new foam seal onto the heater core, then place the heater core back into the HVAC module.

Install the heater cover onto the HVAC module and secure it with the heater cover screws, tightening them to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

Disconnect the discharge temperature management (DTM) sensor electrical connectors and the HVAC module wiring harness retainer pin from the HVAC module.

Attach a new foam seal to the heater core.

Begin by installing a new foam seal onto the heater core, then place the heater core back into the HVAC module.
