  A: The first step of Heater Core replacement requires hvac module removal together with disposal of the hvac module assembly foam seal. Unplug the electrical connectors of the discharge temperature management (DTM) sensor from the hvac module while removing its wiring harness retainer pin. Removal of the Heater Core cover wire harness retainers requires disconnecting the wiring harness from these points before moving the wiring harness aside. The hvac module needs its heater cover screws removed before you take away the cover to expose the Heater Core for removal. New Heater Core seals should be used during every new Heater Core installation. You should start by installing a new Heater Core foam seal before placing the Heater Core inside the hvac module. Secure the heater cover onto the hvac module through its screws while tightening each screw to 1.6 nm (14 lb in). The hvac wiring harness should be reconnected to Heater Core cover wiring harness retainers while the hvac module wiring harness retainer pin attaches to both the hvac module and the discharge temperature management (DTM) sensor electrical connectors.
