The vehicle should be lifted then the propeller shaft's relationship with the yoke needs to be marked. Begin by removing retainer bolts and retainers and tie the u-joint bearing caps together to avoid separation from the u-joint cross. Pull the propeller shaft out from the Transfer Case when operating with 4wd or from the transmission when working with 2wd. Set the propeller shaft inside the Transfer Case if you have 4wd or the transmission if you have 2wd. Afterwards remove the tape from the u-joint before you align the reference marks. Position the propeller shaft inside the yoke before installing u-joint retainers followed by screwing and torquing retaining bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
