The first step for replacing the Fuel Tank pressure sensor on a sedan begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable in accordance with battery disconnect caution. Apply the procedures for fuel pressure relief and system fuel pressure before initiating Fuel Tank draining through appropriate draining methods. First disconnect the Fuel Tank electrical connector from the ftp sensor and after draining the Fuel Tank assemble it for reinstallation. The ftp sensor should be removed from the modular fuel sender. The new ftp sensor should be attached to the modular fuel sender during installation before reattaching the essential electrical connector to the ftp sensor. Final steps include reinstalling the Fuel Tank followed by storage of fuel inside then successfully connecting the negative Battery Cable.
