How to replace the Back Up Light Switch on the ZF S6-650 on 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

To replace the back up lamp switch on the ZF S6-650 the following should be done: first, raise and suitably support the vehicle. For models with 6.6L engine disconnect the back up lamp switch electrical connector & in models with 8.1L do the same i.e. disconnect the back up lamp switch electrical connector. Then, take out the back up lamp switch. Make sure to tighten it to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs), refer to the fastener notice, when installing new switch. For 8.1L engine reconnect back up lamp switch electrical connection and for 6.6L reconnect back up lamp switch electrical connection before lowering the vehicle.
