How to replace the rear brake disc backing plate on a 1500 Series with RPO NYS on 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

As a first step to replace the rear disc Brake Backing Plate on a 1500 series vehicle having rpo nys one must release the park brake if needed before removing the tire and wheel assembly. After pulling down on the intermediate cable release the tension from the park brake cable by removing it from the equalizer bar. Begin by removing the rear park brake bracket bolt then disconnect the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever and remove the Wheel Bearing and park brake shoe. The installation begins with removal of the park brake actuator lever housing from the backing plate which then allows the backing plate to be extracted. Place the park brake actuator lever housing onto the backing plate to begin installation before adding the Wheel Bearing and park brake shoe and making necessary adjustments to the park brake shoe. Reconnect the park brake cable to the park brake actuator lever while making sure to bolt and tighten the rear park brake bracket to 61 nm (45 ft. Lbs.). The last step involves connecting the park brake cable to the equalizer bar before putting the tire and wheel assembly back in place.
