    A: To replace the Universal Joint you need u joint bearing separator tool j 9522-3 and u joint bearing spacer remover tool j 9522-5. Rest the propeller shaft on a pressing device with its bottom surface supported in place to prevent the associated tubing from getting damaged during work. Make clear marks on the shaft ends so you can install them correctly afterward. Use pliers to squeeze the snap ring ends while providing minimal taps with a tool to reduce preload pressure in the system. Set the lower yoke onto either a 30mm or 27mm hex socket to press the bearing cup from the yoke ear with j 9522-3. When the bearing cup does not exit fully insert the u joint bearing spacer remover tool (J 9522-5) in between the seal and the remaining portion to remove it. Turn the propeller shaft in the opposite direction to push the second bearing cup out which you can use to remember how the Slip Yoke should be rebuilt. Check both sides of the cross by examining the grooves of the retaining ring and the bores of the bearing cup for contamination and damage before discarding all components. To build the assembly put half the bearing cup into the yoke before inserting the cross and pushing the cup until it reaches the yoke face. Install the other bearing cup into the yoke and push it in until the trunnion pieces match properly. Then carefully check for smooth bearing movement. Check needle bearings for proper alignment since they might need adjustment. Push the press further when you see the retainer groove formation. Insert the bearing retainer parts properly afterward and press them until they lock securely. To help yoke movement apply a dead blow hammer when needed and layer chassis grease on the snap ring to make retainer insertion simpler.
