2005 Chevrolet Uplander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) at Position 1 on 2005 Chevrolet Uplander?
A: The replacement of heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) at position 1 demands the use of j 39194-b heated Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194-B) for the removal and installation process. Cut off the ho2s 1 harness connector after which properly extract the ho2s 1 away from the Exhaust Manifold while keeping it away from in-line electrical connector contamination and uncontrolled particles on the louvered end. Before installing the heated Oxygen Sensor apply anti-seize compound gm p/n 5613695 (or equivalent) to its threaded area since this special compound made of graphite and glass beads helps make future sensor removal easier. Fasten the heated Oxygen Sensor by torquing it to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Reconnect the sensor electrical connector after lowering the vehicle while verifying that the peripheral seal on the vehicle harness connector stays sealed to stop water leakage. The repair of wiring and connectors and terminals must be avoided while contact cleaners should be prevented from use on sensors and vehicle harness connectors because it adversely affects sensor performance.
