• Q: How to replace the ABS Control Module on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: The replacement process of the ABS Control Module requires the ignition switch to be set to off. First remove the air cleaner housing from the engine compartment followed by ABS Control Module harness connector disconnection. Remove all dirt from the assembly and disconnect the pump motor connector found at the ABS Control Module's bottom side. Remove the six screws between ABS Control Module and bpmv with care to prevent damaging either the seal or solenoid valves by extracting the ABS Control Module away from the brake pressure modulator valve. The installation requires new wave springs along with screws which come with new ABS Control Module and requires a clean bpmv surface through alcohol application with a new cleaned rag. Install the ABS Control Module onto the bpmv component before tightening 6 screws starting with the top 4 screws at 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) according to an x pattern configuration and completing with the bottom 2 screws at the same torque setting.
