  A: Replace the crankshaft balancer by starting with Drive Belt removal before lifting and supporting the vehicle. Start by taking off the right front tire followed by the wheel and then proceed to remove the right engine splash shield. Bolt in a utility stand under the frame right side rail to hold the frame/powertrain structure and extract the two frame right side bolts. The utility stand should be used to move the frame to gain access to the crankshaft balancer. The crankshaft balancer retaining bolt and washer must be removed before using Harmonic Balancer puller (J 24420-C) to take out the crankshaft balancer. The installation starts by applying gm p/n 12345739 sealer or equivalent to the keyway of the crankshaft balancer then placing the balancer over the crankshaft key followed by using the balancer and crank sprocket puller (J 29113) to extract the balancer into place. Install the crankshaft balancer washer first and secure it with the appropriate bolt at 103 nm (76 ft. Lbs.). Professional technicians should use the utility stand to lift the frame/powertrain then install new frame right side bolts before performing the reassembly sequence which includes right engine splash shield, right front tire and wheel installation, vehicle lower-down process and Drive Belt implementation.
