How to replace the steering wheel on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?

First, disable the sir system and turn off the ignition to replace the Steering Wheel. Displace the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module and scribe an alignment marks on the Steering Wheel will with the equivalence of the slash marks on the Steering Shaft. Loosen up the Steering Wheel nut and align it straight adjoining the end of the Steering Shaft. Mount the Steering Wheel puller (J 1859-A) on the Steering Wheel maybe with the use of the Steering Wheel puller legs (J 42578) and after that use it to unseat the Steering Wheel from the Steering Shaft. Strip off the Steering Shaft nut, then the Steering Wheel, and the sir connector from Steering Wheel once the puller has been removed. For install, route the sir connector through the Steering Wheel, align the scribe mark to the slash mark on the Steering Shaft and install the Steering Wheel. Install the Steering Shaft nut torquing to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) and reinstall the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module and turn the Steering Wheel to enable the sir system. Lastly, check the operation of the Horn, Steering Wheel, and Steering Wheel controls.
