2006 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in the HVAC system on 2006 Buick Rendezvous?
A: Hvac employees must start by draining the cooling system's refrigerant before proceeding with condenser replacement. You must first remove the cooling fans and cooling Fan Shroud from the system. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to replace the Radiator outlet hose clamp on the water pump housing. After this step the Radiator outlet hose can be detached from the water pump housing. Using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) disconnect the Radiator outlet hose from its position on the water pump housing and at the Radiator. First disconnect the lower toc line from the Radiator then remove the a/c discharge hose nut from the condenser block before disconnecting the a/c discharge hose from the condenser block and capping or taping off open a/c refrigerant components to stop contamination. Detach the evaporator inlet tube from the condenser block by removing its bolt then cap or tape the tube opening. Start by removing the Radiator and condenser assembly then proceed with removal of the condenser tube clip bolt and the condenser tube clip. Use a wrench to remove Radiator mounting bolts which lets you extract the condenser out from the Radiator. Begin receiver dehydrator condenser removal by disconnecting the bolts on the upper bracket mount followed by the lower ones before removing the receiver dehydrator from the condenser. Discard all sealing washers. During condenser replacement pour the specific pag oil amount directly into the new condenser before installing new sealing washers on the receiver dehydrator and completing the condenser connection. Begin by securing the receiver dehydrator's lower mounting bolts at 6 n.m tension (53 lb in) followed by installation of the upper bracket bolt at 6 n.m (53 lb in). Secure the condenser into position on the Radiator using mounting bolts then tighten each bolt to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Use the condenser tube clip along with its bolt before tightening the bolt to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). After reinstalling the Radiator and condenser assembly remove tape or caps from the evaporator inlet tube before securing a new sealing washer on its fitting. Secure the evaporator inlet tube to the condenser block using the installation bolt which needs tightening to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Begin by uninstalling tape or caps from the a/c discharge hose before installing a new sealing washer to its fitting. Then reconnect the a/c discharge hose and its nut to the condenser block with 16 n.m (12 lb ft) of tightening torque. After connecting the lower toc line to the Radiator you must install the Radiator outlet hose before connecting it to the Radiator. Repeatedly secure the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the Radiator housing with hose clamp pliers (J 38185) while you attach the Radiator outlet hose to the water pump housing. Reposition the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the water pump housing using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) before reinstalling cooling fans with cooling Fan Shroud and performing a cooling system fill-up followed by a/c system evacuation and recharge and inspecting fittings for leaks using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
