Put the strut into the strut spring compressor (J 45400) for installation. Compress the spring by using the spring compressor forcing screw until the coil spring becomes fully compressed. The strut rod nut socket (J 42991) combined with the 45 torx® socket is needed to remove the upper strut mount nut when maintaining the strut shaft alignment. Follow this procedure to extract the strut from strut spring compressor (J 45400): open the forcing screw of the compressor to free the upper strut mount and coil spring. To assemble the system return the upper strut mount and coil spring into the strut spring compressor (J 45400) while compressing the spring once more. Secure the strut onto the coil spring and upper strut mount before putting on the strut retaining nut with loose tension. Install the upper strut mount nut with the strut rod nut socket (J 42991) onto the strut shaft while using the 45 torx® socket and follow up by tightening the nut to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). You should extract the strut from the strut spring compressor (J 45400) before reinstalling it into the vehicle.
