Crawl the forcing screw to compress the spring until it moves without obstruction. A 45 torx socket should grip the strut shaft as you apply the strut rod nut socket (J42991) to remove the upper strut mount nut. Remove your strut from the compressor before you begin to free both the upper strut mount and coil spring by loosening the forcing screw. To assemble the strut spring compressor (J45400) take the coil spring and upper strut mount then compress the coil spring again. To install the strut mount against the coil spring you need to fit the strut first then apply the retaining nut loosely before stabilizing the shaft with a 45 torx socket to torque the upper strut nut to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.) using the strut rod nut socket (J42991). After taking the strut out of the j45400 strut spring compressor you need to reinstall it into your vehicle.
