2006 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the evaporator core on 2006 Buick Terraza?
A: The replacement process starts with hvac module assembly extraction along with subsequent removal of heater outlet duct screws and heater outlet duct. Begin by unscrewing both screws securing the Heater Core cover until it can be removed. After that remove the Heater Core and its installing pipe screw. Remove first the hvac module to dash panel sound barrier seal then the lower hvac module screws in order to split the upper from the lower hvac module components. The service technician must extract the Evaporator core followed by the Evaporator temperature sensor and the thermal expansion valve (TXV) screws. After that, the technician should remove the txv from the Evaporator core and discard the sealing washers. Professional technicians should add pag oil according to the specified measurement directly to the Evaporator core during replacement installation. Place new sealing washers onto the Evaporator line before installing the txv to the Evaporator core and fastening it with txv mounting screws tight to 3.2 n.m (28 lb in). You should now install the Evaporator temperature sensor together with the Evaporator core before aligning and setting up the upper case to the lower case. Secure the lower hvac module screws to a torque of 1.2 n.m and install it on the dash panel sound barrier seal and the Heater Core along with the Heater Core pipe screw tightened to 1.2 n.m. Begin the completion process by screwing the Heater Core cover with its screws to 1.2 n.m (11 lb in), then install the heater outlet duct while tightening its screws to 1.2 n.m (11 lb in).
