2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the evaporator core on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: The Evaporator core replacement process must start with hvac module disassembly and continued with heater outlet duct screws removal followed by duct removal. Starting at the front, you should unfasten the Heater Core screws and later remove the Heater Core cover before extracting the Heater Core pipe screw and Heater Core. You must detach the hvac module from its position with the dash panel sound barrier seal before removing the screws below the lower hvac module surface to split the two hvac module pieces. To remove the Evaporator core and Evaporator temperature sensor requires disassembly of the thermal expansion valve (TXV) screws starting with the txv extraction from the Evaporator core before discarding the sealing washers. The first step when replacing the Evaporator core requires direct application of the specified polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil before installation of new sealing washers onto the Evaporator line and attaching the txv to the Evaporator core using txv mounting screws tightened to 3.2 n.m (28 lb in). The team should start by putting in the Evaporator temperature sensor along with the Evaporator core while correctly installing the upper case below the lower case. The technician should tighten the lower hvac module screws to 1.2 n.m (11 lb in) before moving on to apply the hvac module to dash panel sound barrier seal and install the Heater Core while securing the Heater Core pipe with 1.2 n.m (11 lb in) torque. The final installation step involves securing the screws of the Heater Core cover to 1.2 n.m (11 lb in) while installing the heater outlet duct alongside its screws tightened to 1.2 n.m (11 lb in) until you complete the hvac module assembly.
