2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve in an air conditioning system on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: Recuperating the refrigerant from the air conditioning (A/C) system needs appropriate procedures before starting on the A/C Expansion Valve (TXV) replacement. The open Evaporator inlet and outlet tubes must receive either caps or tapes right away to stop system contamination. The procedure requires moving heater hoses when needed before continuing to remove the Evaporator tube block to reach the txv nut while disconnecting the Evaporator inlet and outlet tube block from the A/C Expansion Valve unit. Before proceeding separate the Evaporator inlet tube from the outlet tube while getting rid of its sealing washers. Proceed by capping off or taping the Evaporator tubes followed by removing A/C Expansion Valve to Evaporator bolts before extracting the A/C Expansion Valve from the Evaporator core while discarding its sealing washers. New sealing washers should be installed onto the Evaporator core before installing the A/C Expansion Valve to its core position while following the provided fastener notice. Fasten the A/C Expansion Valve to Evaporator bolts while tightening them to 3.2 n.m (28 lb in). Proceed by taking away Evaporator inlet and outlet tube caps together with tape before putting new sealing washers onto these tubes to complete Evaporator inlet tube connection with the outlet tube. The Evaporator inlet and outlet tube block should be installed to the A/C Expansion Valve followed by attaching the Evaporator tube block to the A/C Expansion Valve nut with bolt torques set to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). The a/c system evacuation must then be followed by recharge before conducting leak detection scans on each fitting with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
