The first step to replace the Air Filter starts with unscrewing the air cleaner cover screws but leaving them attached to the upper air cleaner cover. Next, open the air cleaner cover to properly remove the Air Filter from the air cleaner. Check the air cleaner housing assembly for damage existence. But if the assembly shows problems you need to install a new one. The air cleaner cover contains an unserviceable hydro carbon absorber which needs replacement if damage becomes visible. Place the Air Filter into the air cleaner before securing the inboard hinges of the air cleaner cover and tightening the screws to 3 n.m (27 lb in) while following instructions on the fastener notice in service precautions.
