• Q: How to replace the oil pan on 2006 Cadillac SRX?

  A: To remove the Oil Pan, start by detaching the front cover of the engine, then detach the power steering hose retainer from the air conditioning compressor bracket, and also disconnect the intermediate Steering Shaft. Then, hold the Engine Mount lower nuts down, then remove the A/C Compressor bracket bolts, but without disconnecting the a/c pipes or hoses. Drain the engine oil and unlatch the transmission oil cooler pipe retaining on the right side of the engine. Install the engine support fixture and tighten the support fixture wing nuts to provide a clearance for the Oil Pan. If they have, then remove the front differential carrier and then the Oil Pan. Disassemble, clean, and ensure proper outlook of Oil Pan as required. For installation if needed assemble the Oil Pan up then install it and the front diff carrier if you need it. Safety - loosen the engine support fixture wing nuts to lower the engine and engage the engine mounts to the frame. After that, remove the engine support fixture and the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer. Pour new engine oil in the engine, mount the A/C Compressor bracket with the A/C Compressor and secure the Engine Mount lower nuts. Mount the intermediate Steering Shaft, attach the power steer hose retainer to the A/C Compressor bracket, and last, apply the engine front cover.
